Ambulatory Oxygen

I am using ambulatory oxygen freedom 300 without conserver which on a flow rate of 6 will last or 40mins. I have been offered liquid oxygen which will last longer but I am worried that this will be impractical if I am away from home for a few days. With cylinders I have 8 these can be supplied within the UK.Advice please.

Hi

Have a word with your oxygen provider, there’s a portable Dewar that you can carry in boot of car. May be able to be delivered to your destination.

I too use the 300 cylinders but with a conserver which I'm finding harder to use lately. However I also have liquid oxygen which has been so much easier to use (and lasts longer). I have a couple of small dewars delivered to my house every fortnight which is more than enough. When I have been away from home for more than a couple of days the oxygen company will deliver a dewar to where you are staying (assuming there is a suitable ground floor place for it to be stored).

I was worried too on my first outing. A necessary visit to see my new grandaughter. I stayed in a Premier Inn hotel for 5 days. I contacted my oxygen supplier, who were so helpful. Everything was in place when we got to our room. There was a concentrator, a large oxygen tank and several small ones. Plus I had the use of my own portable concentrator. I know not to worry in the future. I hope your trip is as successful as mine.

Hi - I have been using liquid oxygen for 10 years now. When I go away in the UK the O2 company delivers liquid oxygen to the destination in just the same way as it does with other types of oxygen.
