I use the Freedom 400 cylinder and on 3 lpm can go 7/8 hours, but looking at my Air Products manual 6 lpm lasts 1 hour 11 mins without a conserver and 3 hours with a conserver, so I can't think it will be possible unless you have two cylinders with a conserver.

Thanks Libby I have just been on the phone trying to sort out holiday 02 (they had not been informed of increase in prescription) I have the Companion, 6L will last 2 1/2 hrs so mentioned to them about having 2 companion's she said speak to BOC urgh!

Can't use a conserver until I get tested on the 25th? Really to meet the prescription should have 3 Companions watch this space will let you know what BOC say Val x

How long did they say 2 Companions would cover your 6l/pm use when some just evaporates. Take mother tank in the RV when travelling for most use / time on vacations.

2 companions at 6L will last approx 5 hrs, should be ok when away as use a wheelchair if going any distance. Last year when we went away for 2 nights they gave us a mini Dewar/mother tank to put in the car Val

Got to have another source to get 7 hours. Mini dewar will not cut it with 6l/pm flow you need the big muttha.

They are delivering one to the hotel on Monday ;)

Thanks for telling us about all that Val - daft but it never occurred to me before that i could ask for an extra. I'm not away for any length of time until next spring, but i will certainly ask for an extra then. Let's face it, we can't enjoy being out and about if we're having to make the 02 stretch. Hope you have a great holiday whatever the weather ;)

Not like other illnesses this COPD, always added stress arranging oxygen but sounds as if you're getting there slowly. Quite a nice day in Shropshire dry and quite sunny. Have a nice break.

Welcome to the 6lpm club! I am now having physio to make me strong enough to carry around the 400 cylinder. The main thing is that I am still getting out and about and so will you. Have a great holiday.

Hi Valm

do you use LOX all the time for ambulatory, its just that I was on 6l (now supposed to be on 8) and I have six freedom 400 at home so i always have some to take in the car with me. I get 3 hours on 6l with the conserver

I have 4 little cylinders as well as the liquid oxygen, having a test done on the 25th to see if I can use a conserver Val
