Hi if I was your daughter I would fill in the forms for both. Hopefully she will be granted either one or both parts. Good luck let us know how they get on. Love Bernadette 😳 xx

Having COPD does not automatically result in a payment from PIP. The benefit is not paid because of what condition you have but according to what extent it affects your day-to-day life. If your daughter-in-law- finds it impacts on her daily activities then she should make a claim.

I had COPD for some fifteen years before it affected my ability to work and carry out everyday tasks. As has been previously said it is not the condition you are diagnosed with but how it affects your everday life. Your claim also has to be supported by Gp/Specialist/ nurses. Good luck.

We all have different levels of COPD. I carried on working when first Diagnosed, eventually I had to retire as I was too poorly to carry on. My Consultant told Me about PIP. I asked Welfare to help with Forms. Think it may be awhile before you can claim. Though you could try.
