Hope you are coping with the never ending winter ๐จโ๏ธโ๏ธ
Looking forward to Spring time!! โ๏ธ
So had one eye ๐ done, waiting patiently for the other op on the 27th..then home on the 31st.
Going to the nursing home was a good idea. It took a lot out of me. I didnโt realise it was going to be a proper op with diverse anesthetics, although not general, I felt I was injected with stuff all the time, oxygen in my nose, a drip, and I didnโt understand why they had to fill up my bladder, and I had to go to the restroom all night! Then the next day they kicked me out of the room at 9 am and I had to wait until 11.30 to have the post-op check-up. I was grumpy ๐ก ๐, had nausea and took paracetamol!
Did I tell you all that already?? I wonder if losing my eyesight temporarily equals memory loss ๐๐
Well here I am all cared for, fed, I have a nice room with tv which I can listen to if I canโt watch it ๐and a reduced mobility bathroom with a chair in the shower and I sleep like a log! A one eye holiday! My right eye is improving, apparently the whole thing will take 2 month to heal properly because of steroids, dryness..
So patience is a virtue, I will make it mine ๐
Havenโt been able to read you, making an effort to write this message on my iphone, trying to keep away from screens as my eyes both sting!
After all this moaning I think I will be glad to have done it. Certainly I see light which I hadnโt seen for a long while and I even see my wrinkles, which I could do without! ๐
So a wrinkly one eyed lady with her own chair in the shower,do i spot romance in the air at the nursing home.perhaps a one eyed prince charming with his own long handled back scrubber.the monocled skin cream tycoon with a smooth line in flattery.the world is your oyster happy Fran, but i imagine you would forgo that distraction for your own bed and the company of Bea and Aria.not long to go now my happy friend.....Skis and Scruffs xx
Who is going to fall for a wrinkly lady with a plastic eye lid who supports PSG?? Stop fantasying about the โone eye wonderโ my dear Skies, you sound like those letters in that episode of This Country I saw! I mean is it a sitcom or is it for real ๐ณ. Anyway I laughed so much the eye lid nearly dropped!
Signed a one eye wink ๐
Oh , you are brave, i hope all continues to go well for you.
Lovely to hear from you, Fran โค๏ธ๐นโค๏ธ I'm glad all is going to plan, but sounds like a bit of an endurance test for you. Never mind, it will soon be the 27th. I've been I agony for four days now with what seems to be a torn muscle or similar in my back. I'm missing all the fun too ๐๐ฉ I'm assured it won't last forever but might be two weeks at the acute stage. Just wish I was able to take ibuprofen....!! Tempted! But been there before.....so it's codeine, which makes me nauseous and whoozy. Moan over, could be worse! Get better soon, Fran ๐ค Lots of love, dear friend, ๐ Penny x๐ทX
Oh my goodness Penny how did that happen? Did you go to the doctorโs at least? I canโt take ibruprofen either or any NSAIDs. Canโt take codeine..I have to use ice or heat and increase my steroids. Oh and those creams like tigerโs balm if you can bear them they are quite good, or a good essential oil massage.
Thanks so much for these suggestions, Fran. Youโre very kind. Iโm not good on balms or massages- couldnโt bear for anyone to touch it just now, but hadnโt thought of steroid increase. Iโll look into that...doesnโt seem to be improving, just changing position a bit...a bit like me...canโt sit or lie comfortably but hurts to move. ๐ฑ Iโll be in touch ๐ xx
Roll on the 31st! In the meantime enjoy being well cared for. Speaking of wrinkles - never knew I had so many till I had contact lenses๐ง. That thing they say about 'contact lenses making you look younger' well it's rubbish, I looked much older when wearing them๐๐
Thank you Magpuss ๐ Ah thatโs probably why I had never seen them, I have never had contact lenses because of dry eyes but now I have that implant in I can see the wrinkles on the right side of my face! Bad enough until next week when I discover more ๐
So pleased you are sleeping well Fran, we can put up with a lot if we get a good night. Enjoy listening to TV and try not to laugh too much. Lilian xxxxxx
Hi Fran, its so good to hear from you. Sounds awful what you've been through, but hopefully you're over the worst..until the 27th that is...but then we will look to the 31st when you can return to some kind of normality in your own bed...๐
In the meantime look after yourself and that poorly eye of yours...sending you lots of healing thoughts and gentle hugs xx๐๐
Itโs ok I didnโt know what to expect, I know now for the 2nd op so it should be easier. Actually being here is a good break, nice to be taken care of, I could get used to it! ๐
Hope you are feeling better, I am thinking of you. ๐ซ๐ธ๐
I'm glad it's bearable for you honey and you're being well.looked after. Sorry for the late reply I did a bit of sleeping today ๐๐ด. Lots of love for now xโคโคโค
Glad things seem to be improving for you. I hate the thought of anyone touching my eyes. A trip to the optician is enough especially when he does the glocauma test. Hopefully youโll be home soon
Thanks a lot..I didnโt mind as I didnโt feel anything they covered me with a sterile sheet so I didnโt see anything but my eye which he kept on telling me to keep open, donโt want to know what he was doing, I was glad I was blind as a bat!
Yes on the 31st for Easter ๐ฃ hopefully xx
Pleased it's gone well for you Fran take care Majt ๐๐ฑ๐๐๐๐บ
