My hands are gradually getting worse! Quite frankly they really hurt, shooting pains and aching! I keep dropping things and twisting movements can be awful! This only really started recently and I’m wondering if it’s a side effect of Fostair
Seems awful to moan but it really is having an effect on my life!!

Hello Leesea, I have no idea if your problems are connected to Fostair. I get problems with my hands and fingers too. Cold damp weather makes them worse. While I am nice and warm they are not so bad. In my case the pains are caused by osteoarthritis. It came on quickly when it started, then it comes and goes. I now have it in various joints but it tends to start in the fingers.
Hi Leesa, I do not know about Fostair but your hands sound like mine were when I had carpel tunnel. Do you get any tingling or numbness especially when cold or in the morning?
I have the same thing, I also use fostair and have done so for years, turns out it’s Arthritis I have. Went to my Doc and got diagnosed. He gave me splints to wear and they are really helpful. I also purchased arthritis gloves from amazon.co.uk for times when the hands are not so bad. The splints are worn the whole day for a month and the gloves I wore after that month. Now (4mths in) I don’t need anything, I know it will come back that’s the nature of the beast. I am 58 so it’s normal wear and tear x
I get arthritis in my thumb joints. Difficult to open jars and packets and many other jobs. One remedy I use is a handful of epsom salts in a bowl of hot water, soak hands for 15 minutes topping up with hot water, as hot as you canbear.
Hello, I have arthritis in my hands and the inhalers can make them more shaky. I would ask the chemist what they think. Can't say about pain sorry. I also have ET in my hands so grapple to not drop things . But can sympathise with you as I have all your symptoms too. There are some drugs that can help lessen the shakes, and ointments can releive pain or painkillers., paracetamol works well on the pain for most people. Hope you get it sorted soon. Oh forgot I take three inhalers but not the same ones as you.
I get Carpol Tunnel only in the winter and generally at night. I wear a wrist splint on each hand at night and that really helps, you can wear them during the day too. You can buy them in all chemists.
I would see your dr though to check what it is as you said may even the meds? The cold weather always effects joints too.
I just had a thought. Raynauds Association have a range of special gloves to keep hands warm. Including silver ones. I think I will try them, it drives me nuts when I drop things and get shaky hands. My neck is very stiff today, it started last night.
I had carpal tunnel surgery years ago but it wasn’t like arthritis.
