Hi there I'm new to the site and wondered if anybody on here has had the same symptoms as me? For the last few months I've noticed a wheeze with a crackling/popping sound in my throat. More so at night as it seems really loud and wakes me up. I've seen a doctor who thinks because I have acid reflux and narrowing of my nasal passages, fluid drips to my nose to my throats and the two combined could be the problem but I don't believe that! I've had reflux for many years and this has never happened before so why now? I do smoke and secretly worried sick that I might have something more serious. I vape a lot to try to cut down on cigarettes too. I have another doctors appointment tomorrow to go back for a second opinion. I do have a walk in appointment for a chest X-ray but I'm too frightened to go as I am too scared to know the outcome. I'm nearly 50 but still have young children so can't bare the thought that I might be really ill. All in all I don't know anybody that has what I do by would be really grateful if anyone else has had the same symptoms as me and what their outcome was? Thanks xx

Clicking in my throat that sounds like popping candy with a slight wheeze. Does anyone have the same?
Hello and welcome to the forum. The problem is that the same symptoms can lead to several vastly different conditions and the only way to know for sure is to turn up for the x-rays and tests. Do it for your children.
Hi thanks for the advice I will go to them I'm just scared to find out what it is. It's always the unknown that scares me. Once I get results I will post the outcome x
The results do not change who you are: they simply give the doctors a better idea of what is wrong with you so that they can start to treat it properly. Good luck with the x-rays and tests.
Thanks for the advice ergendl. Just so scared. I have had a terrible two years with lots of health complications such as spine degeneration a tumour in my leg and colitis of the bowel. I just keep thinking that it'll be a bad result 😞
((((Hugs)))) Bunters. Try to take things one step at a time. Sometimes our imaginations are not helpful, and stressing over tomorrow's things can damage our todays. Try to live in the moment more. Savour that hot drink you're having, enjoy the taste of the food you're eating, try to be grateful for your clothes and the roof over your head, and many other things.... Al the best, M.
