Hello, my first post and looking for advice. I am using Helios Marathon LOX flasks and finding that if I sling it over one shoulder as I tend to do when just going for the paper then I get very cold area just around my kidney area because the flask is very cold. Not much better when worn as backpack with both straps. Anyone have experience of this ? Maybe I am doing it wrong. Grateful for any thoughts.
best wishes

Hello patiopOt, and a very warm welcome to our forum, nice to meet you. I haven't any advice as I don't know anything about your condition, just wanted to welcome. However there are many members on this site so someone maybe able to advise you on the right way of getting the help you need. ✋️😊
I also use the Helios Marathon LOX flasks but tend to carry them by the handle as I find slinging them on my shoulder quite uncomfortable because as the gas is used up it forms ice crystals at the base of the carry bag which in turn can wet your clothes (or feel very cold as you have found). I fold the straps up under the flap at the back of the bag to keep them out of the way. Hope this is of some use.
Carrying a flask with your arm bent you will find it is less heavy on your structure. A long arm ( a long lever ) it applies to carrying your bag / shopping too
I use the same Helios flasks and I don’t have that problem. Sometimes they can be slightly cold or damp at the bottom around the valve but not so much as to cause discomfort.
It sounds like yours could be leaking from the bottom.
Ask for new flasks next time you order a refill of your main tank.
I swap mine every few months as they often develop problems, either with leaking or being hard to fill.
Also, if you fill them in one go, the valve can freeze slightly open and you get the cold and wet leak. I run the valve under the hot water tap when this happens and that seems to unstick it. I avoid this by filling in 10 second bursts so the valve is kept moving.
Last resort would be to buy a small cheap rucksack to carry them in and wrap them in a small towel or flannel.
It’s worth persevering as they are really convenient when they work well.
Hi patiop0t When I was on Helios marathon flasks I used to carry it round my waist. That left my hands free and I could'nt bear it on my back or shoulder. Now on home concentrator and and ambulatory cylinders. Sheila x
Hi and welcome patiopot, I've also used the Helios flask and I used to pull it along in a wheeled laptop bag. Now I use the high flow stroller which has to be kept upright and uncovered so back to using a very trendy Baywater healthcare trolley. 😂
