Will be thinking of you on Monday, in the meantime do hope that Pete gets well soon, and hope that you are managing to look after yourself, my thoughts are with you. Irene x
I have had a couple of mild infections this winter and at the time felt horrible. Hearing your story I wonder how you have coped. Everybody as a breaking point and think you must be very strong minded to have dealt with this for so long without some form of emotional support. I was wondering if there are any support groups in your area that could help you? Perhaps ringing the BLF helpline and talking to their nurse could find some support or answers for you. However if you want to have a rant we are here to listen and I am sure will try to help.
Like sassy, I really feel for you CEC. You don’t get over one thing properly before the next one starts. I’m not surprised you’re feeling worn down by it.
It’s Friday, with another weekend coming up. I’m just wondering if your doctor knows how anxious and stressed you’re feeling? The steroids can cause these problems, especially over longer periods and at higher doses. It might be worth speaking to your doctor for advice before they pull up the drawbridge for the weekend?
Watford girl is right sassy.you are often the 1st person to reply to a query.you are also petes' carer.xxxi hope you have somebody you can talk to.helenxx
Really feel for you cec47, the strains of virus and infections this year seem to be stronger and more varied than previous years. I can sympathise with you as I started with a cold 2 weeks before christmas and am still suffering. The doctor said my chest doesnt have an infection but am very wheezy and still have alot of phelm in my nose and chest which the three lots of ab and steroids didnt clear. I dont think this is easy to clear and not sure if the doctos think this is a different strain to hit us this year. Please try to stay warm, rest and have plenty of nourishing food so that your body can fight this horrid infection. I try to have a walk most days so that i get fresh air and at least meet people to have a chat with, which helps to keep positive. I do hope that you feel better soon. Hugs Irene x
Do you have anybody near that can help? I know you are down and thats understandaable as you have been poorly for so long, but you need help to overcome this. Do you have any close family that could maybe assist, and have you thought of calling the blf helpine, they could be a lifeline when you need it most, please dont dispair, there are alot of people on this site rooting for you. Xx
Please don't give up. I have been fighting chronic bronchitis for approx 4 months; I felt very much like you up until a few weeks ago, when I started seeing small improvements (was holding my breath each day, hoping it wasn't my imagination). I honestly thought I was never going to get better, but I can now see light at the end of the tunnel, so hang on in there - things will get better eventually xxx
You have been so strong and brave, so don't give up now - you CAN do it - I sincerely believe things will get better for you soon - carry on taking your meds, exercising as much as possible (every little helps) and pat yourself on the back every day for dealing with this nasty disease. Can you access a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to help with your anxiety, as anxiety and worry delay our progress in getting better (ask your Respiratory Team and/or GP). A CBT therapist will definitely help and its great to be able to talk about your fears and worries to a professional who knows of the impact on your health. Please keep us updated. We're all here for support xxx
