I'm not someone with a lot of health problems, and I am quite fit .
I have noticed something and would like to know if anyone may know or has experienced this.
When I bend a certain way , especially sideways, it sometimes feels like my ribs are pressing against (almost puncturing) my lung. Usually that sore feeling is accompanied by a moment of breathlessness. I've explained this to someone today and they said it's a lack of fat that causes that.
Anyone know if this is true or has another opinion or idea?
I weigh 55kg and I'm more or less 1.68 m tall. I eat a healthy balanced diet . Any ideas?

I would ask your medical practitioner as the are many reasons why the ribs can feel like that. Commonly if you've had a bad cold, virus or infection then it causes inflammation and can make the ribs feel bruised or sore especially near the lungs.
But there's many things and none of us are medical professionals so I think you need to explain it and have it checked by a professional.
Probably ending up with something simple and nothing to worry about but get it checked all the same.
Almost impossible to answer. As another poster says, best to see a GP as there are lots of causes for pain in ribs. Injury , or strain after cough due to colds and flue - Just examples. I have had the same and have forgot what caused it, not normally serious but better getting rib pain checked out.
Hello Tash
It sounds painful..how uncomfortable for you. I am sure your healthy diet helps. I would go to the GP promptly and have a good checkup because of the pain and the breathlessness.
I had a similar thing I'm now only 6stone.when I have a bad coughing fit occasionally i feel what feels like my ribs cracking. The pain then after I'd so excruciating. I went to a and e they said it wasn't broken it was whereof had no muscle or fat the ribs are rubbing on the nerves where inflammed. The most paint thing even wheb just breathing. Coughing is so very bad . The pain is terrible. I really sympathize though. Get it checked out though be on the safe side. Xxx
Could be muscular..have you been coughing much recently
