HI Michelle,

Worry is natural but look for and concentrate on the best outcome. Try not to focus on the bad. Until the CT scan it could be anything. Oh and don't search Google unless you want to be even more worried. Google tends to focus on the worst possible scenario and a lot of people start to panic. I didn't panic until I got the results of my scans but I get them very quickly before I see the doctor (I live in the Middle East and the medical system is very different to most other places) after seeing the doctor I am usually wrong to panic as there is a simple explanation not as bad as your mind decides it is.

Keep us informed and do not hesitate to ask any questions you want, the people on here are stars and very supportive and informative.

Andrew

Hi

I have had a few shadows on my lungs in my time, which have always turned out to be remnants of a chest infection. Your doctor has a duty of care to send you for a scan, rather than being overly concerned (in a good way).

Hi from experience a shadow on your lung can be very worrying. From my own experience and reading the experiences of others they often disappear. There are a number of causes some of which have already been stated such as infection. Your Doctor is only covering all the bases by sending you for a scan.

A friend of mine had a shadow on her lung and after a second xray it had disappeared, the doctor said it had been an infection. Hope your cat scan is ok.
