I have asthma and COPD because of that. They both make life's so difficult because I have allergies also. All of my life has become a hell which can't be stopped buy still fighting every year. Just wishing it would be better.

Hi Alex, lung disease is very hard to cope with and life can be difficult. The winter doesn’t help either.

We are here for you on HU so do stay in touch and tell us more about yourself.

Wishing you well. Xxxxx

HI Alex, First thing is try not to get too anxious about things. From your other posts I guess you are still a youngster and going through a stressful time with other things. There will be bad days and there will be good days try to most the most of the good and forget the bad as much as possible.

I have step grandson who was a martial arts brown belt who also rode motocross for fun. He was hit by a severe lung infection which put him in Hospital for a month and then home recuperation for another month. He now has similar issues as you but he fought it and made the best of what he had. he can no longer practice martial arts or ride offroad motorcycles but he replaced those with other things he could cope with and last year after struggling with anxiety and stress about school and exams he entered University studying Media. He is over the moon with that because he , at first, thought he would never be able to do things or move on.

Keep positive keep strong keep fighting and you will survive to do most of the things you want.

Hi Alex, I too have asthma/COPD but I am a lot older than you ......however I saw my three now adult daughters suffer from allergies and asthma throughout their childhood, and I know when they sat their exams their problems would worsen.

Have you been given any techniques to help with your breathlessness, for instance pursed lip breathing or gentle belly breathing? These can help with anxiety too, as can CBT or medication.

Have you had tests to find out what you are allergic to? One of my daughters is allergic to Brazil nuts, and mice of all things, another to dogs and cats, and the third to all pets, horses , grass, nuts, house dust. They avoid their triggers wherever possible, carry an inhaler, and use antihistamine tablets . The very allergic one took Monteleukast and found that helpful.

Their conditions are well managed now.

Is your GP helpful, has he /she recommended further tests or a referral to a consultant. Sometimes it can be easier to talk to a Practice Nurse about your concerns, they may have more time .

Thinking of you and there is hope.

Hi alex i am the same as you.. and yes it is a pain in the butt but we just have to get on with it. Some days will be more difficult than others. I am 58 and still going. I seem to have many intollerances and allergies it can be very unpridictable.

Take care try to get some fresh air when the weather permits.

its horrible when you suffer with anxiety on top of copd.have you seen your gp.wishing you well and you do come out the other end, there is hope, always.
