Talking about blood...

Hi everybody,

I must say this site is certainly a godsend when it comes to giving encouragement and inspiration. So thanks everybody who replies to worries, anxiety and concerns, especially those not fully addressed by GPs because of time restraints.

The latest posts on blood are of particular interest for me at the moment. I have mild/moderate bronchiestasis. And I am bringing up globules of blood from time to time. But I am also a laryngectomee which means I am a neck breather so I can see exactly what is happening via my stoma. And also the blood is not from coughing. It's just present in sputum. Is it quite normal, does anybody know, for people with bronchiestasis to have these occurances without coughing?

Best wishes to all.

Could there be some inflammation around your incision site from the tube? Some microscopic bleeding could be occurring from the capillary veins in that area which causes blood in your sputum. Just a thought but best get it checked out.
