Hi, I have COPD and bronchiectasis, I do have different coloured mucous, sometimes yellow/brownish or greenish. What time of day do you usually clear different coloured mucous? Sometimes, when mucous has settled in the bronchi any bacteria that is breathed in can stick to the mucous in your lungs, or so I was told. So far this seems to be true for me, which is why clearing it is good because the bacteria can't set in and cause an infection. Still figuring this out myself as I was first diagnosed 2016.
Hi NicAbby, ,normally first thing in morning but odd times in the day , i have been told to use my flutter at least 4 times a day to help get rid ,its just getting your head around it all as well , i was in hospital in Nov put on Oxygen and still on it 24/7 and had ct scan which showed i also have bronchietasis tbh didn't really know what this was untill i looked it up, but i must admit since having oxygen it has made me feel so much better.
I'm new to this illness but I've got the same as yourself.I'm finding it hard to believe why I'm still having symptoms when I've had three lots of antibiotics. My sample has also come back clear. How can that be when the colour is a horrible brown grey.Dr told me today more antibiotics and go from there. How long have you had it and how do you cope with it?I hope you will get back to me.Best wishes Sandy x
