Household pollution and COPD
Thanks, Fran. Bit of a concern here because weโve been using an open fire at weekends since Christmas. So cheery ๐ฅ๐ฅ We have got the air purifier going too....! I canโt say yet that weโve noticed a difference breathing-wise....very relaxing ๐๐ Hope youโre ok ๐ฆ
I love open fires.. Itโs the mixture of heating, traffic fumes etc in the Chamonix valley it is a real problem, all around LโArve, they are totally contaminated. google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg...
Fine thanks Penny!! Keep well!! ๐ฆ๐ฌ๐

Thanks, Fran. With this and other posts you're really raising our sleepy awareness. Needs doing. Thanks ๐๐ฝ We're so focused on Brexit over here that not much else makes the news. Mayor of London raises traffic pollution and more constantly which is a welcome lead.
Speak later. Hairdresser day today here....rare event!! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Penny ๐
Have a great Hair day Penny xx ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Makes you think, doesn't it?
๐ It does..The chicken and the egg..Do we get more lung diseases because of the environment? I think so..still some of us are more prone than others..I suppose thatโs where genetics comes in..Still..I just saw that Amazon has created their own rainforest bubbles in Seattle..I mean they distribute so many packages and for us consumers it is cheaper of course but at least they are thinking of giving something back or am I naรฏve..I was stunned but I thought it was a good initiative..we need more ๐

I've yet to understand why C.O.P.D. rates are rising when smoking is at it's lowest levels ever. It can't all be diesel engines surely? Think of the "Pea-soupers".Hardly any diesels then.
I donโt know much about COPD apart from what I have read here, it seems linked to smoking but is it only that? Well we donโt have coal and wood burners everywhere anymore but there are always new chemical fumes, new inventions, smaller particles..and climate change of course..

Yeah, you are right. I watched a programme about "Toxic Building" syndrome. Apparently there are now over 80 more man-made chemicals in the home than in the Fifties.(And of course, we MUST have them- how did we ever cope without?! Lol.) Personally, I can't tolerate bleach, air-freshener etc.
Wow ๐ฎ.. how awful..yes I donโt do well with strong smells, fabric softener is the worst it gives me nausea..
How can we fight that hey.. by political means and for our well-being with guided imagery? From Belleruth Naparstek? ๐ or others..
I try anyway, one hand on my breast bone one on my tummy, eyes closed and breathe it all away, far far away from us, imagining I am in a non-polluted world, maybe a beach with the cleansing ocean wind, maybe a mountain view with white spotless snow on the glacier, and I am closing my eyes, breathing peacefully and so when I wake up from this dream I am free from anxiety about planet Earth ๐ xx
