Hi all. I’m a bit confused and concerned. I finished my last two week course of antibiotics and steroids last Thursday. Come Sunday evening I could feel the symptoms coming back and yesterday I could hardly get a breath at all. Had emergency triage appointment just now and the nurse said that there is obviously something wrong but that my chest sounds clear. I know damn well that it’s not right but if it’s not a chest infection then what could it be? I’ve got emphysema and bronchiectasis by the way....

Confused
This is very common you know your body I have been told by doc before that my chest is clear only to produce a sputem sample that free bugs ie infection there’s only one thing to do keep going back as maddening as it sounds it’s the only way to be sure best of luck xxx
She said there was obviously something wrong? So she can't just leave it there. Hopefully she spoke to the GP. Perhaps you need to make an appointment to see the GP or speak to the nurse again and ask what is being done.
As far as I know I’ve got a doc appointment in a week. I had thought it was cancelled but still seems to be on the system. Also triage nurse has sorted out an appointment with the copd specialist for a proper review in about a month. Can’t argue with the attention they’re giving me it’s just so demoralising thinking that chest had cleared and then it comes back.
It has been a bad winter for so many. There seem to be more bugs, etc. around then ever. I hope they get this sorted out for you.
You are not alone this winter with this. I have been ill for two weeks and like you i have finished my rescue medication and feel little better, although the wheeze is not as bad, I just feel wrong. If I am like this tomorrow, I will get seen... I really can see where you are coming from, but just read another post similar, I posted a similar one last week. Seems to be a bad winter for COPD sufferers...I would ask to be seen by a doctor... Good luck..
do you have post natal drip and sinus trouble
