Having missed the many friends I've made here o'er the year,
I thought that I would join again and test the atmosphere.
It always was a happy place that kept my spirits high,
To combat all the ails we have and help us to get by.
(As you can see, my rhyming hasn't improved any.)

Ditty is a word I've not heard for a long time Pantani , thank you. I try to give them rhythm as well as rhythm. 
We were up the creek
Without a paddle
But now our poet
