An Anecdote..

Pema Chodron has a wonderful sense of humour.

One day, a few years ago, as I was in my little London flat, coughing my heart out, got a present from my daughter, some CDs of Pema Chodron.

I thought ok she’s telling me something 😃 you have to learn from your children😉..I think she was my first experience of wisdom and meditation.

She makes good jokes, so I was sitting there feeling sorry for myself: I am sick, doctors are useless, nobody cares, it’s cold.. blablablabla

So I put the CD on and she says « we are so good at self-denigrating » too right I thought..

Then she tells about a cartoon she saw:

« There is this man kneeling by his bed looking upwards with his hands grasped in prayer and he is saying: I asked you as nicely as I could to make me a better person but apparently you couldn’t be bothered »

Aria says: Cold it is..
