As far as I understand you need to have a ct scan to get a definite bronchiectasis diagnosis? Have you had that? If so then there are lots of tips on looking after yourself that I and the others on here can share with you
Bronchiectasis is all about looking after yourself and avoiding infections if you can winter is of course a difficult time for us! I always have my flu jab as early as possible, take vitamins, keep my distance from anyone with any sort of illness and use vicks first defence to try and prevent any illness should I go near anyone or feel a sore throat or anything starting. I’m also on mucus thinking drug and long term antibiotics but that of course is up to your consultant. You need to get into a routine of clearing the mucus which the physio will help with as the more it hangs around the more chance you will get an infection... anyway that’s just a starter there are so many more things you can do to help yourself x
Hi what Knicho said and I find eating well, cut out sugar, and 20 mins or more excercise helps. I also find not eating diary and gluten helps me alot(less mucus) but quite a big step for anyone to do and may not work for everyone, but after the first month it gets easier. welcome to the group, dont hesitate to ask any questions.
This is the most up to date info on bronchiectasis, although this is still in the soft launch stage. We voted to put in the videos from clinicians to clinicians but if you're newly diagnosed you might want to dip into them later as there is lot to take in.
