Hello Bprather .
Welcome. We are so pleased you are here. It's very natural to be scared. We all were too. Please come here often. It's a fantastic place to receive and give crucial support.
Sending best wishes.

Hi and welcome,
The truth is it doesn't get better BUT we can control how quickly it gets worse by the way we live. If you're in the UK then ask the GP for a PR (Pulmonary Rehabilitation) course as this helps understand the condition and how to minimise its effects.
If you smoke then stop (cutting down isn't really an option).
Exercise until you get breathless (PR gives more details) ... then carry on for 30 minutes - every day.
Avoid places (as much as possible) where you are at high risk of catching infections (a.k.a. exacerbations).
"Pretty scared" - COPD doesn't kill many but how we live with it is largely in our own hands - most people here want a good quality of life so adapt to minimise the impacts of the COPD and of course this option is open to you.
Tell us a little more about yourself and others will be able to give more advice
Besh wishes ... and stop worrying!
Thank you so much for the welcome! I live in US, Illinois to be exact. I still work, an office job, so I'm blessed there. I want a good quality of life and my nerves and lungs are getting the best of me. I love that you have let me join, I hope to be a positive force as well.
How nice to meet you. Diagnosis is scary but we have to go forward from where we are. Excercise and no stress is the key.
Take care
Welcome to the group hun.
