They'll understand. Don't worry. Take it slowly. Tell them you can't breathe well. Is there anyone with you?

Yes my daughter

That's good. I'm glad you're not on your own. If you decide to call 111 perhaps she could take over and speak to them if you find you are getting too breathless to speak.

If you can't get your words out you need an ambulance now

Good advice from Sassy to phone 111 straight away. Don't leave it till Monday. Come back later and let us know how you are. Take care, Annie

Not good to leave it. Best get some medical advice and or check up. Last time i rang up they came back to me 4 hours later. By that time it was 4 in the morning. So dont be supprised if you have to wait. Try to keep warm and just relax. Loosing control of your breathing is very frightening. I seem to be suffering lately. But have a nebuliser at home so can self treat to some extent. Hope your chest improves.

I have lost control of my breathing on 4 occasions and had to phone an ambulance (person with me phoned) I'm just wondering if anyone has any techniques that would stop me losing control as like you said it is very frightening

You're very welcome Dave. Thanks for letting us know how you are. I'm so glad that you went to the hospital when you did and that they have been sorting you out.

I think we're all guilty of putting off going to the doctor until we feel really bad and we need a shove in the right direction sometimes. Luckily there's always someone here ready to give good advice to anyone who asks.

Best wishes, Annie
