Could anybody tell me if they have pain in the back with this condition. Have been diagnosed 5 years ago I experience more pain, especially on the side where the lung is more damaged. Having intermittently sharp , stabbing pain in middle of breastbone. Would be pleased to hear some comments.

Hi also get pain in my back which covers the area where the Bronchiectasis is. Not all the time but certainly during or just before a flare up. For piece of mind go and get it checked out. It could also be caused through coughing. Only a Gp will put your mind at rest.
Hello, yes, when an exacerbation is brewing I get a dull heavy pain in the most damaged area of my lungs. It is my first sign to get the abs started. I would go to your GP if you don’t have rescue abs at home. I hope that they are experienced in treating bronchiectasis. Do you have a bronchiectasis specialist consultant whom you see on a regular basis. You should have one because bronch is very specialised and we are all different. If not, look for one in your area. They are usually at big teaching hospitals. Take the name to your GP and insist on a referral because you need a bronch expert for your ongoing care. Good luck.

I can't help you with any experience of the pain you're having as I only have mild bronchiectasis and not many symptoms at all. If you can't find a consultant respiratory Dr., try looking for a respiratory nurse specialist, I found mine through the Breath Easy group and the British Lung Foundation. X
Thank you for your advice.
