bronchiectasis: how can i find out who... - Lung Conditions C...
bronchiectasis
I googled and came up with this mft.nhs.uk/wythenshawe/serv...
The only consultant I’ve heard of is Dr Andrew Jones, who’s done a great deal of research. But I think your best plan would be to ask your gp to refer you to the Clinical Lead, and take it from there

Clinical Lead: Dr Caroline Baxter
Prof Andrew Jones, Dr Rowland Bright-Thomas, Prof Ashley Woodcock
Phone: 0161 291 2311
Location
The Bronchiectasis Service is based at the North West Lung Centre in the Yellow Zone, through entrance 4.
Dr Baxter’s team is very good and they would soon point you in the right direction, she leads at the Aspergillosis team in Wythenshaw
After being discharged by the mri saying there was nothing more they could do for me from doctors who I really didnt have any faith in. I felt my condition getting worse, being left alone to fuddle your way through bronchiectasis and sinus problems is really not right. I dont think there is enough professional doctors that are fully trained in this so asked my gp to refer me to a specialist at Wythanshawe, this came through a couple of months ago and I am now under Caroline Baxter who has done a ton of blood tests and I went for a full lung function test last Friday, which I havent had before. I must say I am very impressed with how thorough she is. Having to use public transport to get to Wythenshawe whilst my other hip is going is a pain but so worth it to have a doctor that seems to know what she is talking about. I hope you get referred there and it works out for you x
That’s sounds promising. I too suffer from sinus problems , bronch/asthma. I’m waiting to see the ENT at Bolton. When I asked my GP to be referred to a respiratory/ bronch clinic I was told I’m not severe enough x
I would ask again, its disgraceful that you are not receiving due care. I had a sinus op and although it has cut the volume of mucus I produce it is creeping up again and the surgeon put a hole in my septum which doesnt help but still glad I had it done as it has cut down on infections.
I think we have to find ways of getting the care we need, good luck x
I saw Dr Denning at Wythenshawe when I was first diagnosed
