I was wondering if anyone could help regarding heating problems. I have broncicatasis, and recently have had problems, with my oil boiler. It will cost up to £ 3.000 to replace. Does anyone know if any grants or charity that could help me please ?.I have found one scheme but it only apply to gas and we don't have it in our village. Am dreading the cold weather now.
Many thanks

You could also call the blf help line and age concern (if you are over 60 i think) they may be able to give you some pointers as were to go and who can help good luck. Hope you get sorted soon
I really hope that you get sorted before it gets much colder, I know my daughter is having the same problem with her boiler, but at least she can come to stay with me till she can afford to get it sorted, I hope you also have help available. Best wishes Maureen x
Thank you all for your help. We are looking into seeing if we qualify, at the moment, it seems we dont, as we are not on the necessary benefits.
It's not just me and my lungs I worry about, but my daughter has severe autism, cerebral palsy and brain damage, ironically after getting pneumonia. She can't control her body temp well or cope with any type of change what so ever bless her. My husband is retired and disabled I have broncicatasis, along with other steroid side effects.so cannot get work
I don't know what we are going to do, but are looking into the warm front grant fingers crossed thank you all so much.
Hello, do you know who your electricity supplier is? It’s worth contacting them and letting them know which benefits you are on and any additional needs you have. They can put you on their ‘Priority Services Register’ and offer advice and point you in the direction of other organisations and charities that could help with grants etc.
Most of the larger electricity suppliers also offer a £140 rebate off your electricity under the Warm Home Discount scheme if you or your partner are disabled and you have a low household income.
There is help out there, it’s just a matter of finding it. Good luck! Xx
