Measures of success...

How do you measure how you are feeling? A walk round Talkin Tarn is my measure of success. 1.25 miles around and if I can manage it slowly without stopping I’m happy. It’s been a while since I was there but I wandered round quite easily yesterday. A real boost to my confidence and mental health. Heading back tomorrow and hope to be able to get round as easily

Glad that you could get around your tarn, Marie and especially without stopping. It's a beautiful place and must be such a pleasure to walk in.

A lovely way to measure success Marie, and 1 1/4 miles is an achievement. My way of measuring success is more prosaic - it's lifting weights and being able to increase the amount I lift. Im up to 3 1/4 kilos each side for the different lifts I do aiming for 5k. Now if I lift could weights by the side of your tarn, that would really be something. :)

What an accomplishment Marie, and a great boost for your wellbeing. May today be as good if not better. Xxxxxxx

Well done. Keep it up, you never know, one day, you might even be able to go one way round, catch your breath and then go the other way round afterwards, for a change of scenery.

Lovely! What a nice place to go to measure how you are doing. We have a park near here with a small lake that I like to walk around. It's only about 1/4 mile but when I do it I feel really pleased with myself. Hope the weather stays good for you to do the walk again soon. xx Moy

That's interesting. Only today a friend visited (I've recently moved) and we walked into town. Fine - slightly downhill. I explained on the way back that I was using this as a barometer of my health as I grow older because, at the moment, I stop for a few seconds on the way back. When I need to stop more often I will know extra work/help is needed. Good luck with your progress.
