Is this usual?

Hi everyone, as stated before l have mild copd, mild bronchiectasis and multiple lung nodules. I don't really have symptoms yet thankfully. However, sometimes when l exercise it feels like my lungs contract, (like a someone crumpling a tissue), sorry if that is a bad description. During these episodes, which do happen infrequently, l am not short of breath and my sp02 is high 90's. It does go after l have used my salbutamol inhaler. I am not asthmatic and read that bronchospasms are accompanied by sob, so maybe not one of those. This is the only symptom l really have at the moment. I would be really gratefull for any advice on this. Had my worst ever on Friday after having an unplanned walk of 3.5 miles. It was cold and there was quite heavy traffic. I have mentioned this to gp etc, but it has never been explained at all to me what exactly is happening. When I got back into my house on Friday, which was very warm, my chest felt completely closed up and wheezy, but no sob. I wonder if this is going to start happening every time l exercise, l do run as well. I am becoming increasingly concerned, but don't want to get to the point were l stop exercising because of it. This only occurs outside. I lift weights indoors and this has never happened. Sorry for going on. Carol x

Hi, Before I was diagnosed with moderate bronchiectasis five years ago, and was given O2, I often felt a sort of gasping halt in my breathing. I would not have called it crumpling but it was something like that - I think I know what you mean. It was painless. I assume it had to do somehow with airway restriction, and I now very rarely have the symptom. Pursed lip breathing is recommended for exercise, so you might see if that helps. I'm very impressed with your exercising!
