I had my surgery for a collapsed lung and when i woke up i was in the worst pain ever. My heart was racing also. I cant breath deep at all with this fuid im my chest from surgery, and i feel like i have 2 coigh up phleme but cant because of pain is this normal with surgery? Im scared 2 death. But my oxygen level never gets below 95 or 96 so idk. The pain meds just take the edge off of the pain vut the pain stays. Im really scared, iv never been through any surgery or anything. The chest congestion has ne freaking out. It might just be the fluid from surgery idk. 😷😫😭

I had my surgery but...
Have you told the ones looking after you that it's painful? Never be silent if something doesn't feel right or feels a bit too painful.
Good that you've had your surgery successfully. If you cannot manage your pain you should keep telling the nurses/doctors till they have another look at the type (or reassure you that all is well). Sometimes we just need that extra reassurance that all is well & that things will get better daily (ask them for a time estimate if possible). I hope you feel better soon. All best wishes.
One year later and I'm bout to be I'm college and I'm really feeling better than ever ty to u guys support.. I even play basketball and go to gym ever week.. I wish there was a way to contact u besides this to tell u my journey to me being healthy and successful as I am now.
Can understand you feeling scared I would be too, like you I have never had an operation so not knowing what to expect must be frightening, but you can console yourself you are in the right place for expert advice so as others say ask for help. Try and find a friendly Doctor or nurse and tell them not just of your pain but your fears too. I know too hospitals are very lonely places so if you can also get some emotional support from family and friends please do, and hang on in there - don't lay worrying just, get the pain meds sorted and sleep as much as you can and concentrate on healing - take care with love xxx
So sorry to hear you have been suffering - must be frightening. Hope you are somewhat improved by now but if not ask if you can see the pain management nurse to discuss, best of wishes to you xx
