Had a chest x-ray and it showed pulmonary hyperinflation. This indicates COPD. Haven't smoked in over 20 years, have no real symptoms until after this x-ray. That x-ray has bothered me mentally!

Upset to say the Least

I assume your seeing a specialist soon, no doubt they'll do a CT scan and assess. There are so many reasons for this so don't speculate yet wait and see what they say. There are also amazing treatments now, breathing exercises etc that really help, so try not to worry and let it take over.
Also, my first X-ray showed hyperinflation then the CT didn't, turns out the hospital mixed up my X-ray with someone else's! I've got another lung problem but just goes to show till it's all investigated you really can't be sure.
I had hyperinflation on x-ray whilst I had an infection. It cleared up and I then had a normal X-ray. Why did you have one?
It is very easy to allow worries to take over. You need to try and occupy your mimd. Getting gentle exercise does help. I hope you get some answers soon.
I have hyper inflated lungs too, and not smoked for forty years.
If you weren't/aren't having any symptoms why did you have a chest x-ray?
