Was at the Doctor today

The doctor told me not to call back until 2 weeks after my chest extra, well nothing came up in X-ray but I had pleurisy I couldn't catch my breath awake from 3am and then into college 5 days in a row. I was in so much pain

Yes Augmentine doc wanted to put me on steroids but they drive me crazy in the head, I mean crazy so I opted for Antibiotics. She said to me that I had been smoking since 1966 I would have been 5 years old I'm so annoyed with doctors and their lack of care I had to ask her weather I was COPD or not.. She also wanted to send me to the local hospital talking about putting steroids in through my hand.. I didn't understand so I'm at home in pain and very short of breath,,I was told come back to doc Monday afternoon but now I'm tired of doctors I stopped smoking this week Thank you so much for your reply sassy59

Hope you feel better soon, just think once the infection has cleared you will feel so much better, even more so that you have stopped smoking.

Pleurisy is awful & causes a lot of pain are you taking anything for the pain. Some doctors deem to be very judgemental in their attitude but don't suffer change docs if necessary & well done for stopping smoking do keep at it xxx

Good morning, pleurisy is extremely painful. I hope you are on some medication for it and really you should have been at home in the warm, never mind going to college. I hope you are soon feeling ok again. You should go back to see your doctor- it's your body and you need to look after it. Really good news about giving up smoking, we know it is so hard but keep going with it.

Jen-S I went on YouTube and got good breathing exercises for COPD also a diet for strengthening lungs I.e. Raw honey a spoonful a day this is cheering me up as the doctor wants to see me Friday again to check me out cause I talked up for myself assertively thanks again for your reply's they give me the confidence. Had pleurisy in February this year ,,,not nice at all ,take it easy ,,,you'll soon be feeling better , I was on augmenting but they made me sick , sadly that was the only antibiotic that would kill the pleurisy bug and another bug I had at the same time ,, but I was given anti sickness pills , Then all was ok ,
