Hello,i would rely be very thankfull if someone help me with the problem i am facing right now. Its been three years since I've been facing breathlessnesss, its getting worse with passing time, since one month I've been feeling chest lain whenever i try to breath hard. I've got checked up by almost 5-6 doctors and they all said one thing, its because of overthinking and anxiety, all the reports were normal too,but what about breathlessnesss when that i feel while eating or climbing stares, are they too because of overthinking? No one is getting whats wrong with me and I'm too not getting whats wrong with me.

Have I had a CT scan? Blood test? There's lots of things that it could be what tests have Drs done? E.g. Low on iron typically makes you feel out of breath have your iron levels been checked?
Hi, I have been having exactly the same simptoms for just over 6 months. I have had an xray which came back clear. On and off I feel short of breath and tightening in my chest which makes me feel like I need to cough. It is frustrating as it often come on at night when I am asleep which wakes me up. Being a vegeterian my iron level is a bit low but no more than usual. In the past I have also suffered from anxiety and had a mild case of asthma (prescribed an inhaler which in this case does not help). I am positive that what I am currently experiencing isn't either anxiety or asthma (it just feels different). I was also prescribed by my Dr Propranolol to slow heart rate as and when it happens assuming it was heart pulpitation that I was experiencing but it did not make any difference.
I was told that heart issues can cause difficulty breathing and chest tightness so looking to get a referal to a cardiologyst as a next step.
Hi Bob, breathlessness can have many causes....the above advice you have been given I agree with.
But I was wondering if you could be ' over breathing' or hyperventilating, which can disturb the Oxygen / Carbon dioxide balance and may cause symptoms of anxiety......a vicious circle sometimes.
Have you tried the pursed lip breathing technique when you feel breathless.....a very gentle breath in through the nose and then out through the mouth with pursed lips....repeat a few times. At other times carry on with the gentle nose only breathing....from the belly with a relaxed diaphragm and relaxed upper chest and shoulders.
Relaxation and meditation exercises help me too, but I would get the blood test for anaemia or heart problems seen to . I was diagnosed with anaemia recently .
I've tried pursed lips technique, but the thing is when i breathe through nose,m not able to get enough air in,that why m not getting any help with that,nd thaks for the suggestion but I've got checked by a cardiologist too nd he said there nothing wrong nd has said just to exercise more
Yes, I discovered I was overbreathing a lot, when I did the pulmonary rehab course. The physios helped me to work out how to stop doing that so much when I did anyting physical.
