Some advice please
If you have infection i dout it BEST lung disease test is a gas transfer test in my opinion.
A puff test messures lung volume And a gas test measures oxygen co2 transfer.
Normally they do not do spirometry until 6 weeks after your infection clears. It would be a pointless exercise as your lungs would not have recovered. I would ring the copd nurse to ensure that you are not wasting each others time. Trying to stage you etc so close from finishing antibiotics is not good practice.
Morning they probably won't do a test on you if your recovering from infection or still on antibiotics ....it would give false readings xx
Thank you for your intest I shall mention this but I assumed they know what they are doing.
Never assume that 'they' know what they are doing. Nurse may just have been told that you need to be tested. May not read your notes until just before your appt.
Left and right hands abound.
Greetings
Please don't get hooked up into the "what stage am I at?" game. You don't have a death sentence, wherever you are at, and if you've only just been diagnosed, then it would seem that you haven't been to your GP with problems before. It's now 32 years since I was told that I had emphysema and I'm still here.
Just do all the right things to avoid further damage and you will go on and on!
Cheers
