Hi, haven't tried this but have been researching clinics world wide for a stem cell treatment for emphysema. For my ailment there doesn't appear to be a UK clinic. Watch out for the scammers if you have to go outside the UK, Serbia, and Asia seem to be the worst for taking money without principle. Germany & USA appear to be the best with good service and results. If you do find a clinic in the UK that does do stem cell please let me know. Good luck with your quest.

Hi honeymo's reply doesn't sound good but don't be downhearted there are clinics out there but it does mean travelling to another country mainly.

I tried a site in the USA called "Clinical trials" they have 4No clinics, The other hopeful was Germany which I also found thro' a site that offered clinical trials, this site was very good as they gave out details of about 6No clinics, 3No responded very quickly. Unfortunately I have this wretched Bone marrow cancer which put everybody off touching me with a barge pole.

As I have this problem I've put everything on hold, although I do have a meeting with a UK guy on 18th Oct which will see where that takes me.

I will have to get back to you with details as these are filed away and I don't hold these in my memory. Leave it with me but keep away from Serbia they are not a clinic I would suggest fir you. Their contact is very believable but info I received was not good.

Hi, it's me again.Initially I managed to get names of consultants in UK by contacting the hospitals mainly around the London area and within a radius down to the coast in Southampton (General)I got a lot of the hospitals from the local reps for lung coils & lung valves, They supply the hospitals that are involved in either research or treatment. I then emailed an inquiry for either a trial or treatment. There are clinics around the country tho' but not knowing where you live it's difficult for me to identify a hospital near you.

As I got a negative response to most of my inquiries due to my cancer,I went to the following sites, whatclinic.com (mainly Germany), Lung institute (USA) went here as a member of the BLF forum has just had stem cell treatment in Tampa and we sort of keep in touch. He is improving, maybe not fast but going in the right direction. Clinical trials.Gov mainly UK, Worldwide clinical trials. Most of these for me worked out negative, again due the wretched bone marrow cancer. Without cancer responses may be much better.

I do have an appointment with a consultant here in Brighton on Wednesday but I think I'll be wasting my money but have to see.

Hope this all of some use, could give you an email of the guy in the USA if that's any help.

Hi yet again, if you do go onto the "whatclinic.com" the clinic in Serbia will likely come up as Swiss Medena, they have an office in Switzerland but the clinic is in Serbia Belgrade, they will maybe make contact with you. Read all the reviews they paint a bad picture.

For info on valves try pulmonx on google the rep there is Scott Lawson, he can give you a list of UK centres that are performing lung reduction surgery, there doesn't appear to be anything around Huddersfield so you would have to travel, at least it's in the UK not across the water. Also try coils PneumRx a different contact will come up in the UK but I seem to have lost his details. The two manufacturers are not related so you will need to compare the treatment centres. Any clinic will require that you get a referral from your lung consultant. Should have included this yesterday, sorry. If anything else comes to mind I'll send you yet another message.
