Hi there. My husband age 71 has had severe Copd for about 6 years, he has been in hospital three times with pneumonia and has the bacteria sudomonas a lot.to cut a long story short he has a mass /growth on the bottom of his right lung, because of wear it is they couldn't do a biopsy but took samples of lymph glands which highlighted during the petscan. The lymph glands were in the lung area . The lymph glands were clear so the doctor said it hadn't spread . They are 98 per cent sure that the mass is cancer. Anyway since he had the biopsy 3 weeks ago he has been in pain. He is on the strongest co-codamine .and sleeps more of the time hardly eats has no appetite and is depressed. Also no energy and seems to be on oxygen more and more..he has sent a sputum sample in the hospital last week, waiting for the result.his sputum didn't look like it was infected , anyway the nurse is talking about oral morph as the codeine is knocking him out and when it wears off he is in pain again his chest is sore and back and he also has post hermetic zoster pain from shingles 4 years ago. His quality of life st the moment isn't very good.we are going back to hospitsl next week to discuss a new kind of radiotherapy , as he can't have normal radiotherapy, asmhenlungs are already damaged, any advice would be appreciated he drinks ensure drinks. Thankyou.

My doctor put me on NAC which you can get online without a prescription and Daliresp which is a prescription which seems to keep me from exhaberations I haven't been hospitalized for 18 months now. Don't know if it will help but it sure helped me. Don't have to use Oxygen as much either. The Daliresp is expensive here in the states don't know how much it is there. Really sorry to hear about your husband.
