Anxiety health worries
Hi
Seems there is no reason you can’t lead a normal life.

Hi you would be better putting this question in the British Heart Foundation site which is also on here. This one is for sufferers of lung disease.
Hi, lilaclil is right. This is the British Lung Foundation forum. To discuss issues around your heart I suggest you join the British Heart Foundation site.
If you are really worried then please have a chat with your doctor as s/he knows your situation best.
I had a coarctation of aorta corrected in 1961, when I was 17. In those days there was no follow up and I just carried on with life. Nowadays you should be getting an annual checkup with a cardiologist, preferably one who specialises in adults with congenital heart disease. Apart from taking pills for high blood pressure I was absolutely fine until I was 50 and had a minor stroke. I worked in a very remote part of the world for ten years, and had two children. Even after the stroke I trained for the ministry and was ordained 6 years ago. Effectively I worked part time until two years ago. I began being a little unwell when I developed atrial fibrillation 7 years ago. The lung diseases I have have nothing to do with the heart problem. I suggest you contact The Somerville Foundation, formerly the Grownup Congenital Heart Patients Association. My advice to you is keep fit, enjoy life and try to stop worrying while at the same time be sensible. I am now 74, still mostly enjoying life as far as possible. You may have heart problems later, but lots of people have them without starting out with them. Don't waste time worrying, not worth it. Many blessings xx
