Just had another ct scan done on Tuesday. And the pneumonia that was on my original scan has resolved. But they found some newly appearing modular somewhat spiculated infiltrates in my upper left lung. But I've been feeling fine. Have had some discomfort in my upper back. But even that has been feeling better the last week or so. my primary doctor won't or can't say what it is. And I don't have my follow up appointment with the pulmonologist until Friday. I have horrible anxiety. So I know the tensions and discomforts I am feeling now may be from stress. How can this still be with me after 3 months?

Hi sorry to read about issues WHEN breathing is involved is quite normal to suffer anxiety panic attacks or even hyperventilate.
Wish there was a quick fix but sadly i have not found one myself .
As to pneumonia it can take year to get unto level you was at before if ever.
Also you can have pockets of consolidation in remaining lung from nasty infections CAN'T think of proper name of it.
I know none of it is nice but got to try stay positive AND think well that was grim BUT am over worse.
I find thinking like that helps me
Thank you Jeff. It is frustrating. Especially when you think you're better. Now the discomfort on my left side of my back has returned. But this could also be from the tension that the stress and anxiety caused after finding out the results and not getting any real answers from my primary family doctor. I hope you are on the mend my friend.
Good advice from Jeff. Anxiety can be terrible and trying to stay positive does help.
Hi Jimmy41, lung conditions can take quiet a while to resolve if at all, infections can leave scarring which remains for ever. No wonder you are anxious it seems like there are unresolved issues in your chest so may need further tests to determine a diagnosis. Hope fully your visit to the pulmonologist will make things clearer, and you are right stress does cause heightened symptoms. Please keep us up dated on progress I for one would like to know how you get on, every best wish for a good outcome .
So I have to get a brochoscpy done 9/19/17. They also took 5 or 6 files of blood today. The pulmonologist thinks that it may be a chronic bronchial infection. But not sure what caused it. Reason for the blood test and the procedure on Tuesday I suppose. I am confused by all this. Still feeling ok. Blood pressure was a bit high they said. But I've been under a ton of stress from this and multiple other things going on in my life. I still am not having pain when I breathe. But they said the pain in my chest and back may not necessarily be from my anxiety. Could be from this bronchial issue. What I don't understand is that it will take about 2 weeks for the results from the Broncohscopy to come back. Blood work I figure in a few days. But what happens if I do get complications/sick between now and then? Plus my recent history with antibiotics and C-diff are an issue. If it's the type of infection they think it is. Then I'll have to be on a long course of antibiotics. So yeah, I'm stressing bad about all this. Anyone go through this before?
Do not stress over the bronchoscopy procedure as you will be under anesthesia .i suggest, however, you ask why it takes 2 weeks for the results. When I had my bronchoscopy they did a biopsy and the results were immediate. Two weeks just doesn't seem right to me. Best Wishes judg69
I asked that. They said because they're not sure what we are dealing with. They will test it for multiple things. Some results will be right away. Others take more time. But who knows if that's the truth of it.
My stepmother thinks it could very well be copd. That's scary stuff from what I've been told. And no cure
Just got home from having the bronchoscopy. They said they did not need to take a biopsy. Because there wasn't anything to biopsy when they put the camera in. But did take some fluid to see what kind of infection I may have. If at all. Said it could be pneumonia still that was unresolved. Should get results in a few days. Still waiting on 2 blood samples. The other 4 have come back. Only one that wasn't norma so farl was the sedimentation rate it was at 25mm. Normal is 0-15mm. Still waiting on the IGE and HIV results. Not sure why they're taking so long to get back?
