Well looks like another grey and wet day out there maybe it will brighten up as the day goes on ........ breathing seems to be quite a bit better today although coughing up lost of nasty stuff I'm wondering if thats infection or my lungs clearing themselves out as I have now been smoke free for 6 days, so I think I will see how it goes as some of you might remember both dr and resp nurse said they could hear no sign of infection so they told me to stop my antibiotics so am hoping its more to do with my lungs cleaning themselves .
Hope everyone has a good day and that your having better weather than we are in good old somerset

Dull and grey here too (West Mid's) not wet 'yet' though. If you're feeling ok apart from the cough it's probably your lungs beginning to have a good clear out. When I stopped, I coughed more than I ever did when I smoked and if I remember right, it took 'about' four months to clear completely. The worst of it came up very easily, the last of it was harder to cough up which was a bit disheartening at the time but well worth the effort in the end.
It's yeuch from stopping smoking Cales lol I hope the sun shines in Glastonbury this weekend im glamping there and want to bring our motorbikes we shall see xxx
Glad your feeling Better Cales, I was the same when I stopped Smoking, Thank God I did, though doesn't stop me from the pending Transplant, BUT, does however give you a longer Life span. I'm on Permanent AntiBiotics, Azithromycin, they are amazing not had a chest infection for over a year now.......Been raining here in Nott's though a Sunny Day is Forecast...Being Positive..have a Great Day. xxxx
Hi Cales, looks like night here in the Midlands but to cheer you up it is supposed to sunshine later except Ireland and farther north. Well done on the no smokes, it is most likely the coughing up is clearing your lungs, unless you have any fever. Enjoy your day x
Its also like night time here dark and dismal I shall look forward toit brightening up later , I would like it a little fresher today the humidity really didnt help my breathing yesterday it was a real struggle at times
Hello cases, nice to meet you. The weather here is rotten as well, raining at the moment and quite chilly. Your cough could well be the result of stopping the evil weed, but if it goes on too long have a word with your doctor, better to be safe than sorry. Hope the weather cheers up a bit. Take care and breath easy xx
Still raining here but quite mild 😊 am hoping for some dry weather soon got lots of washing I rather get out on the line ........, very nice to meet you too Christina hopefully we will have many more chats 😊
The thought you had first was probably right, your lungs will need to clean themselves and the "Gunk" usually comes up as sputum or thick mucus, not pretty but very worthwhile. Once clear your meds should be more effective but if you have been a smoker for some years it will take a bit of time to clear don't expect miracles overnight. Keep up the good work. Weather might be bad in Somerset, it's not that great here in Brighton either. You are not alone.
Still coughing up thick sticky mucus but it's clear now breathing is a little easier today but it's not as humid today the humidity yesterday was very restrictive ........ hopefully I'm going in the right direction now 😊
