My terrier is a one man dog, and I'm a one dog man.
We live our lives together, as happily as we can.
Her legs are short and so are mine, but I'm by far much taller.
But the age gap which at first was long is getting ever smaller.
One year of mine's worth seven of her's, at least that's what I'm told.
So with a little reckoning, together we'll get old.
She remembers my wife and son, sadly now long gone,
Her tail wags when she sniffs at things which have their scent upon.
I hope we still have many years to go, but when our time is done,
I'd like to stay together and pass away as one.
