It seems a lot of people are asked questions at the PIP face to face meeting but the so called health professional ticks boxes on her screen different to what you told her! so you get turned down for PIP, do you think this is fraud /criminal!
Criminal!: It seems a lot of people are... - Lung Conditions C...
Criminal!
your last two words are correct.
P S. have been giving it a bit more thinking and am not sure now if that is the right words for doing something like that.
i take it that this is what happen to you! have you been able to put it right yet?
its hard when your faced by people who are better at lieing the you are in saying the truth.
let us know how you get on.. am sure you will win through.
good luck.
I have learnt by bitter experience that you have to know the right words. When I applied for my autistic son's DLA he was turned down at first, but I discovered a wonderful guide from a mental health charity and followed it step by step. Took me a fortnight and I swear you need a degree in DWP form filling, but he did get middle rate care and lowest rate mobility so it was worth it. I don't suppose PIP is any different so it is definitely worth learning the key words, getting some help from CAB or a benefits adviser, BLF has one I believe. I wish you all the luck in the world if you appeal, and don't forget to describe how you feel at your worst. My son hasn't been assessed for PIP yet, but I have advised him to be as autistic as possible. Not difficult as he finds bureaucracy difficult at the best of times. Took us years to persuade him that you still had to put your name and address on a form even though they knew it because they had sent him the form in the first place!
I did complain to the DWP and my local MP, he got involved but they fed him a load of BS so now it's going to appeal, Even he can't understand that if you only need 12points to keep your mob car and a different DWP put me at 55% disabled with my walking then why did they turn me down and go through the expense of a tribunal, ?
from the posts ive reading on this forum it seems to be the norm to turn people down..but dont be disharten as it also seems to be the norm for appels to be upheld.
hope you get what you need.
take care.
Hi Cory43, not sure what word fits this anomaly. If you question it they will no doubt say it was a mistake as no one can prove that they delibrately misrepresent what people say. Of course all the appeals due to this keep people in work, looking at it from another point of veiw. But it does not alter the stress and time consumption placed on the claimant and the need to proof your case this is hard enough without altered facts coming into it especially if you are ill. The Questionaire in my opinion needs to be a less yes /no form and the assessor needs to be assessing not just asking the same questions as you have filled in. Maybe with consent these interveiws should be recorded not written. There is no simple solution I guess.
How can you tell which boxes the assessor ticks? Did you get a copy of her report?
The DWP sent me a copy of all the face to face lady ticked, so I could then see how she ticked boxes different to what I said, 3 in all that took my help with mobility away.
