Hi all, just read a copy of my consultants report to my GP, and he recommends this drug for me.

What is it? Anyone else on it?

It is a form of theophilin. There are several different types. The amount they give you is based on your weight. I have been on uniphialin for over 20 years.

Hello! Its a tablet used alongside inhalers (typically) to treat wheezing and breathlessness. Medicines.org.uk is a fab website if you need more info X

Thanks for the replies, I asked because in the consultants letter, he said, "if I could tolerate it" I was to be given 1 tablet twice daily! I wondered what he meant by tolerate it.

I've been on them for many years with no side effects - normally taken without food, only because of my eating habits.
