Now I have never had to tick this box but due to having Bronch and an auto immune disease, will I have to say yes? Confused?

Hi if they ask you directly whether you have them then tick yes. If they ask whether you have any illnesses which could affect your job and you don't think they would tick no.

Never lie on an application form but you haven't always got to volunteer the truth. Not if you want to get the job.

I thought as much so went with the truth.

Harsh reality of having to say 'yes'....

Thank you :)

Yep :)

Definitely yes it's a long term health condition done the same myself the other day whilst applying for posts further down it may ask you to describe illness and whether you want a disability type of interview xxx

I thought you weren't allowed to discriminate on health grounds therefore shouldn't be asked. So long as you are capable of doing the job nothing else matters.

Often they give you the choice of prefer not to say. As far as I know if you have a disability and have all the essential skills required they have to give you an interview...

They do but only if you make this clear on the application form beforehand. You have to say you are applying on disability grounds. Many employers don't do this but councils, the NHS and the DWP do and official bodies such as this. It's not law though.

With my current job they did not ask but I feel I should tell them so that they know or would this be detrimental to my position?
