Hi Margaret which Centre Parcs are you going to.xxxπ
Our daughter goes to the one in Suffolk, Elvenden l think? They love it as quite flat. You would need to be close to amenities so try and look it up online or get a brochure maybe.
Good luck with getting away. Would do you good. Xxxx
Wherever you decide to go, enjoy yourself, you both deserve a holiday. I love the Lake District and been there a few times myself.
Thank you for reminding me, time is ticking away and we have not planned anything for us yet and Sharon needs to give a month's notice.
Thank you my late father came from Cumbria cocker mouth we used to caravan lies years ago and when I was at school many moons ago went youth hosteling there with school .I hope we are able to get away fingers crossed Time for you and Sharon to get planning
Gosh, how great to be thinking about a holiday! Good luck with finding the right place. x Moy
It's only a thought but I can see Frank getting stressed although he says he's ok it's strange I'm talking about a break away but in stressing because I'm on way for EcG. at doctors it is local and I've never been since on oxygen worrying about seeing people who know me isn't that sad I will have to wear blinkers xx
You have come such a long way recently! I'm sure you will be fine going to the doctors, although I understand what you mean about the blinkers. I get vertigo attacks and everyone knows it, but I still don't like being seen when I'm like it - just need to grow a thicker skin, I guess!
I think the holiday sounds a great idea. A friend of mine recently went to Centre Parcs with a group of disabled children. They had to take oxygen and other equipment and the manager was great. I don't know which one they went to, but I'm sure they all work in similar ways.
All the best,
xMoy
I had Oxygen delivered to Butlins ... no problem, just give them a bit or warning and the dates ... have fun xxxxx
Hi. We went to Centre Parcs in the Lake District 2 years ago. Had my liquid oxygen dewar, portable oxygen bottles and concentrator delivered without any problem.Think it was Air Liquide who cover that area. In fact, Centre Parcs have their own medical unit on that site and when I rang about the delivery I was put onto one of the nurses there. The place itself is brilliant and mostly flat for walking. You can be quite a distance from the main facilities, though, so if walking is a problem try to get your accommodation in a zone close to the main centre. Good luck. Sure you'll enjoy it.
Thanks very much I'm looking for wheelchair access accommodation or something on one floor have stairlift at home hopefully can get near facilities I did ask about oxygen delivery but forgot to write the times she said down also I believe I would have to give Boc the phone number and a named person is this right and where do you find this out .I am pleased you enjoyed it I'm a bit worried about people staring any problems and any tips please thanks
If you get the direct telephone number for the Lake District site (think it's called Whinfell at Penrith) from their website or ring the central number for Centre Parcs and they will give you the Whinfell number. When you ring direct they will put you through to the medical team and they will give you contact details to pass on to your oxygen supplier, plus you have to give them your accommodation address. If you are still at the planning stages, it's still worth ringing the site direct and talking things through with them. They were really helpful. There is plenty of accommodation which is wheelchair friendly and you certainly won't feel out of place there because of your oxygen use or wheelchair use. When I spoke to them before we went there, they said they were used to getting oxygen deliveries on a week basis. Definitely recommend it (though it can be expensive overall, I would say.
