Hi I have alpha 1 I'm zz was diagnosed in march 2013 I'm 42 and I live in U.K.
Hello, I am an alpha 1, diagnosed in 2006, and now aged 71. I'm completing a pulmonary rehab course at the moment, and this is proving beneficial. I'm able to do a lot more without feeling so breathless. How are you coping with the effects of this illness?
Hello. I am a PiZZ alpha living in the uk. I'm 58 and in decent health at the moment.
Hi I am alpha1 diagnosed back in 2008 and Pisz. 25% lung function
Hello, sorry to hear you have alpha 1. I discovered I am P1*Z and it came as a shock as I also have copd, a heart condition and degenerative bone disease. I am a non- smoker aged 78 and until the age of 70 was fit and active. You don't say how old you are, so my advice to you is now that you know you have alpha 1 get as much information and medical advice and help as you can. More importantly don't worry to much - stay fit and eat healthily. Regretfully, I have passed the condition on to my children, if you have children, get them checked out. best wishes, Letys x.
Hiya, I'm 54 and have around a third of my lung function. The antitrypsin thing is a bugger but nothing you can do other than let your kids know, stay as active as you can and enjoy today. I always laugh to myself when the Dr talks about keeping fit (given your limited breathing) but every little helps. Bought a motorbike last year which is great and I think singing does me a lot of good. Do what you love and all the best
