I'm jealous too, 'coz I'd love to be within walking distance of such a wonderful place as the New Forest. Suspect y_not feels the same. Beautiful night sky!

Lovely as Derbyshire is (my home area) we are surrounded by cities which produce light pollution! Anything higher than the police helicopter becomes a vague glow and that's about it.

Last time I was the Milky Way was in West Wales last March - anywhere that avoids light pollution makes me envious.

If you really want to see stars the you can do no better than the big skies of Norfolk without any light pollution. Lie back, look up and let your eyes adjust and you can see so many stars just with the naked eye, it truly makes you feel small.

Don't like to brag but, if you'd like to see more stars than you ever imagined existed Yellowstone Park is the place to go. Amazing place in daylight but at nighttime it's magical and just a tiny bit scary.

Your not bragging just sharing a beautiful experience with us thank you for posting xx

You are so clever with the camera such a great shot. Love the night sky reminds me of the beautiful skies I used to see when traveling with my husband who used to be in the Navy. We would be what they called deep sea for weeks without the sight of land the evening skies were superb. You are in such a beautiful part of the country thanks for sharing with us. X
