My mother has completed TB treatment for 6 months with Fixed combination (INH,RIF,EMB,PZA)drugs . Doctor told recently that Half of her Right lung has scarring (she has white spots at edge of her right upper lobe before treatment and cured after treatment and her Oxygen level is 97% after 4 mnths of treatment). Could you please help us that ...Will my mother face any respirator emergencies in coming days. Her left lung is healthy. Is 6months treatment enough .???.Kindly help me.

hi bsp.. .am happy for you and your mum that she was cured. but am sorry to say there are no doctors on this site.

what about asking her own doctor or who ever has been treating her, they would know how to answer your questions.

cured is such a magical word...

As bluetooth says none of us are qualified to give you medical advise. Many people can survive quite comfortably with an entire right or left sided lung removal but as advised please refer to your consultant but all appears to be going well.best wishes
