Travelling Home.

It's always good to get back home

Returning from a little roam.

We chose to use the pretty way

And find a picnic place to stay.

Through Pickering, Thirsk, down Sutton Bank

So very steep, oh what a prank!

It needs some care to go down there and,

Cars with caravans are banned.

Ripon Cathedral comes in view

In year 1200 that church was new.

Pressing on to Pateley Bridge.

It's nearly time to feed my Midge.

And now we're on an open moor

With picnic places by the score.

And so we pause a while to scoff.

Before too long we're setting off

To Grassington a lovely place,

And Skipton where we raise the pace.

The camper knows she's now in Lancs

And gives a little sigh of thanks.

Lift's up her skirts, increases gait.

We're going now at quite a rate.

Soon she's safely parked at home,

Waiting until next we roam.

Glad to here you and Midge have arrived back home safe and sound. You certainly get around and see some lovely places, thank you for sharing them with us, it's nice to see all these places especially those of us who can't wander much..... and of course along with your 'intuitive ' rhyming verse.

See you have been to my old stamping ground. The Yorkshire Moors, oh it would be heaven there this time of the year, the spongy moss grass underneath your feet, the stream gurgling round the stones, the smell of heather, bleeting of the sheep, and so so peaceful.

Then they come to eat, hundreds of the pesky little!e b!ighters, circling around your head.....so small, yet so so annoying......

Glad you're back safe and sound Don. Ive camped around lots of those places, so beautiful there, Id love to see them again. Your trip has made me think . . . Now enjoy being home until the next trip
