Copd and waiting transplants

Hi, 59 yr.old male.

Alpha 1 antitripsy, copd end stage, all other organs are great.

Have been goin through this for a number of yrs. It has gotten worse over last three years after a plane ride. On multiple meds,02 6lpm.

Welcome to this forum. Are you in the US? So sorry about your situation. Sounds very hard. There are others here who are awaiting for transplants as a result of various lung conditions. And I am sure they will be along with their support. It is a great site.

What happened on the plane to make things so much worse?

so sorry to hear your heartbreaking news. i too have end stage copd . interesting that you think a plane ride impacted this disease. it made me think because i too had a problem on a plane and since then my disease has worsened. i was on 02 during flight but when we went up over 30K feet, my portable concentrator could not satisfy my demand and i desaturated!! i always have t o be

on continuous flow and the portables only go up to 2 lpm! what was your problem. welcome!!!
