I would love to be able to sleep but seriously it seems there is no happy medium it's either insomnia or constant sleepiness

I know how you feel, I wake up tired, I yawn all day. If I am not carefull I will nod of at table. I go to bed and I am asleep in less than 2 minutes (my wife has timed it) I to have copd and Sarcoid . I am off work at present as I kept nodding off at my bench when I sat down so they sent me home.

You could rule out (or in) Sleep Apnoea by using the online test britishsnoring.co.uk/sleep_...

If this rules it IN then make an appointment to see your GP for a referral for a sleep study (just a machine hooked up to you at night - at home in most cases) to get a detailed report.

The test is a simple eight question test and other clues include snoring and being overweight (but I am dieting!)

the only thing I can think of is if you are on oxygen you might be a Carbon dioxide retainer as am I
