Yup. I am lucky, I have veins like hawsers. Never a problem. Once I was waiting to have a CTPA scan. A junior doctor came in to put in the cannula. "Err..." I said to him, "Shouldn't it be a green one?" "Oh no," he replied. "Pink is fine." Five minutes later he appeared at the door, somewhat shame-faced. Six pairs of eyes all looked at him. You know what hospitals wards are like. "Errr.... I'm really sorry. You were right , it should have been a green one." So he came across with it. "You are lucky I don't have a thing about needles, young man." I said. But by then I had had AB gas taken from my right wrist, so that was all bruised. A cannula inside my right elbow, so that was all bruised, he had messed up the inside of my left elbow. So he peered at the purply green carnage and finally found a vein in the back of my left hand. "Listen to the patient," I muttered.
Sorry, you don't really want to hear that when you are on the way for a blood test, so you?
