Hi people not posted for a while still suffering from mega mucus which my docs seem to think a large proportion is from reflux , I'm really suffering with pain across my back like burning and sharp pain, I had X-ray last week Nothing remarkable, any ideas thanks

Infection? What does your gp say?

Hi, thanks for replying he said my X-rays looked unremarkable no changes in 6 months, when I mentioned the pain it isn't all the time comes n goes he just shrugged his shoulders and asked if I took gaviscon ? It's like a dull burning sensation, sometimes get same feeling in esophagus n ribs that's why I thought it may be related to reflux x

Shrugged his shoulders? How about a ct scan? Did he suggest that?

Hi mardi, no he hasn't suggested a scan just more reflux pills for a month, maybe I will suggest a scan on my next visit, the pain has gone today but in the words of the terminator it will be back😞 Xx

What medications are you on for reflux? Secondly are you on mucus thinning medications? lastly as your GP sent a sputum specimen for MC+s as this could be due to a upper respiratory tract infection.

Hi , badbesse, I've been on a few different meds for reflux , omerprozole, lansaproole im now trying pantaprozole just one tab a day, I did take carbocystien caps three a day but it was thinning the stuff but I felt like I was drowning ! So just now take one 375 cap a day, I've taken loads of samples in but never pick up an infection in all that's ever present is candida x
