Was at my local chemist picking up my drugs feeling quit hungry NOT the baltic country BUT the physical condition of being hungry.
As i skipped breakfast AND bang chemist had MIRCAL food nutrition drinks pots soup on display.
Well i was all over them like psoriasis
Is first time i have seen this tasty type usually its complan cardboard or pills.
My multi vit pills had to stop taking as was not going down to well
And i noticed when try correcting Vit Defiancy can make your mucus sputum thick.
Anyone else noticed that
Anyway went down bit to well so think am going to try soup's next and handy drinks .. handy drinks remind me of one's dad was on in hospital but NOT as expensive as ones hospital use.
I mentioned to a friend yesterday that I was losing weight, and my teeth!
She suggested liquid drinks too. A new GP was concerned about my weight loss and said go and make an appointment with the nutritionalist......shame my health centre doesn't have one.
I think I will try these. Tiredness is a problem for me, and lack of muscle strength. Do take some vitamins but these contain some I don't take. I see Tesco sell them so I could include it in my on line shop. thanks Jeff, be lovely to get some energy!
My mother when old lost a lot of weight. She tried a few of the build up drinks but didn't like them. She then tried Ensure and loved those. They have lots of different flavours including yoghurt ones. She got them on prescription. They are high in calorie and have all the vitamins etc in them. I am convinced they kept her alive for years.
Hidden is nice to meet you! You mentioned your Mum was drinking the Ensure drinks which I'm taking the liberty to presume were prescribed to her by her Doctor/Dietitian? You would be amazed at the cost of these tiny, little drinks- yes they do contain every kind of vitamin ,mineral etc one's body needs but the cost to our wonderful NHS is off the scale! My point of posting is to tell my story of being on the very same supplements for 5 years, initially due to severe weight loss and although I was still eating one large evening meal and several snacks during the day,I had pointed out to my Dietitian that my weight had gone from under 6 stone to now just short of 10 stone!( correct for my height, age, build etc). It took 3/or 4 phonecalls to try and stop this medication. Eventually, those that be agreed with me that I didn't need them any more but that they had certainly played a huge part in my overall body weight gain(steroids ×3 probably added a bit too). It just amazed me how difficult it was to stop the Doctor prescribing them since they aren't cheap and the NHS needs to save money - its a no brainer !
