Calor gas

I have COPD & asthma, I recently spent about 10 minutes in a room filled with calor gas fumes. Since then I have had a course of steroids but am still very short of breath. Could the fumes cause long term/permanent damage? Have you any advice?

Should not cause any long term problems. I think what as happened is the fumes have triggered a flair up in your COPD. Hopefully your breathing should settle as the inflammation reduces. But you may need more steriods. There are a number of triggers that can cause your breathing to become worse such as smoke, exhaust fumes, Hairspray, dust or even food smells have been reported. As of yet I have been lucky and have not this problem. Best advice would be to research COPD triggers and where possible avoid them.

I lived in a caravan for 7 years and had to use calor gas for cooking and heating and no proploms with it if you can smell the fumes then it is the room is not vented or the fire need to be served
